The United State has experienced a huge boom in the suburbs over the past few years and Texas is a huge part of it. The annual released their list of the fasted growing suburbs in America, two of those suburbs were found in Texas.
This list from Realtors was compiled based on construction booms, population growth, and home appreciation. Here’s a look at the top two fasted growing suburbs in Texas and another eight that didn’t make the top ten from Realtor.com, but are still growing very fast.
Frisco, TX – Top 10 Fasted Growing Suburbs in Texas
Coming in at #3 on the Realtor.com list, Frisco is a suburb of Dallas. The median home list price here is just over $474K and the appreciation rate over the past three years has been over 21%. In addition, home listings have increased by nearly 178% over the past three years.
Ever since Toyota started moving employees to the new corporate campus in Dallas, Frisco has been growing like crazy. It’s found about 4 minutes from downtown Dallas and just 10 minutes from the Toyota Motor North America headquarters. It only makes sense for these employees to choose Frisco as their home.
Many new homes are being constructed in the Frisco area. In fact, about 33% of the homes on the market in Collin County (where Frisco is found) are newly constructed.
Another reason this suburb is so hot right now is the great schools. Niche.com ranked Frisco as one of the top suburbs in Texas for raising a family and one of the best for living.
Manor, TX – Top 10 Fasted Growing Suburbs in Texas
Manor came in at #7 on the Realtor.com list and it’s a suburb of Austin. This suburb has a median home list price of $237,800 and the three-year appreciation rate tops 23%. Along with these two stats, the three-year home listing increase is more than 142% in Manor, TX.
With Austin topping the country’s list of fastest-growing cities, it’s no surprise a suburb from this area would make the list. The city is also a huge tech hub with plenty of new employers coming to the area regularly. Manor only had a population of 1,200 residents in 2000 but has climbed to more than 9,000 residences since. It’s also highly affordable compared to the Austin City Limits with home prices averaging nearly $200K cheaper.
Manor offers an easy drive to get into the city, but also has plenty to offer residents, such as the Banner Distilling Company. You can tour the distilling company and find out how they make whiskey and vodka. In addition, White Fences Equestrian Center is found within the suburb.
