A city located in Hays County; Dripping Springs offers a popular suburb of Austin. It’s growing rather fast with the population going from 1,788 residents in 2010 to more than 4,600 by 2018. The community is known for the hot, humid summer and mild winters.

Dripping Springs Growth 
Dripping Springs is one of the many Central Texas cities in the Sustainable Places Project. This project is designed to help cities become more livable and grow faster. 

While Dripping Springs is very attractive for new residents in the Austin area, it’s also known as the wedding capital of Texas. The city is also a very popular tourist destination and offers a brewery, winterly, and distillery destination. 

When the city was named at a Dark Sky Community in 2014, it began to attract a new type of tourist. The Dark-Sky Association recognizes cities helping to reduced outdoor lighting to a minimum. Dripping Springs even hosts an annual Dark Sky Festival on the last weekend of March. This event attracts many people known as Astro-tourists. 

Real Estate in Dripping Springs 
If you’re considering relocating to Dripping Springs, you’re probably curious about the homes for sale within the area. Dripping Springs offer a community with about one-third the land dedicated to residential housing and another 18% offering land for development. The location, just 30 minutes from Austin makes it a very popular place for first-time homebuyers and those looking to move out of the city.

Belterra 
With 1,600 acres of parks, playgrounds, and creeks, Belterra is filled with natural beauty. It’s just minutes from the High County Galleria and offers 11 sections with homes and lots for sale throughout. The community offers some of the best schools in the area with Rooster Springs Elementary and Dripping Springs High School nearby.  

Highpointe 
Offering about 750 total homes, Highpointe is a community covering about 740 acres of space. Homes range from 2,000 to 5,000 square feet in size and comes from some of the best builders in the area including Wilshire Homes, Buffington Homes, and Standard Pacific Homes. 

Highpointe is a gated community with a clubhouse and amenities. It features a gym, three swimming pools, and a children’s waterpark for residents to enjoy. 

Sunset Canyon 
One of the older neighborhoods found in Dripping Springs, Sunset Canyon offers plenty of privacy with larger lots. It’s common to find homes for sale in Sunset Canyon on lots of at least one acre.  

Rim Rock 
The views found throughout Rim Rock make it one of the most beautiful places to live in Dripping Springs. It’s surrounded by six miles of hiking trails and offers a location close to many things to do including the Driftwood Vineyards and Wimberley Valley. 

Many of the neighborhoods in Dripping Springs are newer and offer custom-built homes. The community is growing and several new developments are found throughout the area. 

Those seeking a place to build a home will love the options available in Dripping Springs. It’s a great spot for real estate with several homes for sale and plenty of land available for your dream home. 

Schools in Dripping Springs 
Some of the best schools in the area serve the Dripping Springs area. It’s a part of the DSISD, which received a 92 out of 100 from the Texas Education Agency. 

Dripping Springs Elementary School provides a good option for PK to 5th grade, while Dripping Springs Middle School offers the right option for sixth to eighth grade. Of course, Dripping Springs High School offers the right option for high school students. 

Walnut Springs Elementary and Rooster Springs Elementary are both great options, as well. The overall graduation rate for Dripping Springs is 99% and about 93% of students go on to college. 

The area is also served by an Austin Community College. It’s called the Pinnacle Campus and offers plenty of programs for adult education. 

Things to Do in Dripping Springs 
While many homebuyers move to Dripping Springs for the laid-back lifestyle and great schools, it’s also filled with plenty of things to do. There are several breweries, wineries, and distilleries throughout Dripping Springs. 

The city also offers some very unique restaurants with Creek Road Cafe being one of the top choices. Residents enjoy plenty of good options throughout the area like Smoke’N Hops and Rolling in Thyme & Dough. It’s also home to the Mazama Coffee shop. 

Dripping Springs provides plenty of outdoor activities throughout for residents to enjoy. Whether you want to go hiking, biking, or just discover a unique 50-foot waterfall, you can find it nearby.  

The Hamilton Pool Preserve is one of the better outdoor attractions. It’s found off the Pedernales River and offers a beautiful waterfall for visitors to enjoy. 

Residents can also enjoy adventure at Milton’s Reimer Ranch. This public park offers a playground for adults and children to explore.  

Of course, Dripping Springs is also known for the Dripping Wine Trails. Many wine tours are found throughout the area and plenty of wine tastings are also available. 

Dripping Springs is also home to many events throughout the year. There’s a farmer’s market and plenty of community events for residents to enjoy from concerts to festivals to arts and crafts events.  

Living in Dripping Springs
